About my work...
My subject matter tends to reflect themes of peace and calm. I find inspiration in the landscape around me, the garden and my travels. I have a great interest in land preservation, organic farming and supporting local farms and artisans. I find these themes are reflected in my work. I am inspired by the natural beauty of New England and local farms and farmers markets. I paint in oil because of the richness of its color and am in awe of the French painters Corot and Monet because of the way they handled light and color and Vincent Van Gogh for his perseverance and commitment to his art. I have recently rekindled my love of textiles and have been making fabric collages and mini art quilts as a side to my painting.
About Me...
I have a BA in Art History from Hope College, where I also took many studio art classes and a graduate certificate in Business from the University of Massachusetts Lowell. I continue to take painting and fabric workshops to learn new techniques. I grew up in Columbus, Ohio which was a city surrounded by farms and have lived in New Hampshire since 1996.
