I have a BA in art history from Hope College, where I also took many studio art classes and a graduate certificate in business from the University of Massachusetts Lowell. I have continued to take art classes and workshops at various places I have lived over the years. Some of the artists that inspire me are Georgia O'Keefe, Vincent Van Gogh, Jean-Baptiste-Camille Corot, Claude Monet and Wayne Thiebaud. I love the earth and find my subject matter tends to reflect the peace and beauty of the natural world as well as everyday objects. I am interested in the processes that artists use to complete their work . I paint mostly in oils using an alla prima approach where paint is applied quickly and usually in one sitting. I grew up in Columbus Ohio and moved to New England in 1996 from St. Louis. I currently live in the small town of Mont Vernon NH with my husband, dog and cat. I spend a lot of time walking my dog in the woods around our house, where I find inspiration for my paintings.
